Caring for a family member with a disability or a medical condition can feel like you’re on a lonely journey that few truly understand.
In the Abby Care community, you can connect and lean on other families like yours. The best part: your loved ones can also meet and bond with others just like them and build lasting friendships.
We host events, ranging from picnics, brunches or dinners, to giveaways, tours, adventures, wellness days, and so much more.

This program was authorized by the Governor of Florida on June 6, 2023, however, we are still awaiting instructions on regulations from the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). We are sending monthly texts to our interested family members to make sure you don’t miss any updates and can start as soon as possible. Sign up with us here!
$0. This program is 100% covered by Abby Care and comes at no cost to you. We know how expensive finding care can be, and our goal is to enable you to reach your dreams by eliminating cost barriers.
This will depend on the number of hours of care you are approved to provide! We will pay you hourly based on the negotiated rate your Medicaid managed care organization sets.
Home Health Aides can work up to 8 hours a day, seven days a week. There is no limit to the amount of days that a Home Health Aide can work in a year.
We will guide you through the 86-hours of our training program so you are prepared to care for your loved one! This is broken down as:
• 40 hours of classroom training in the client's home or at the Abby Care office.
• 30 hours of skills training must be completed at Abby Care’s office.
• 16 hours of clinical competency training and validation must be completed in a client's home.
• An additional 4 hours of medication administration training may be required based on patient needs.
No! Any family member who is older than 18 years of age and passes a Level 2 Background check can provide care.
You can sign up as many children that qualify as necessary! Per AHCA rules and regulations, a second child under the same family caregiver will earn 50% of the reimbursement rate and a third child (and all else after) will earn 25%.
However, another family member can become a caregiver to ensure 100% of the reimbursement rate is earned.
